Roosevelt St, Phx)DJ TennisFounder and A&R of Life and Death Records, Manfredi Romano grew uptour-managing punk bands and organizing left-field music events in Italy around theturn of the Millennium. Having completed his studies in computer science at theUniversity of Pisa, Manfredi then formed DAZE, Italy’s first booking agency solelydevoted to electronic music.Drawing on two decades of experience behind the scenes, Romano shifted focus toDJ Tennis, established in 2010 and quickly gained worldwide recognition in theelectronic music scene. Since then, he frequently plays in renowned clubs such asCircoloco Ibiza, Fabric London and Panorama Bar in Berlin; festivals like Sonar,Timewarp, Primavera Sound and Coachella; and held a Phonox residency in Londonin 2022. Since 2017, he co-founded and curates the music festival Rakastella duringArt Basel, Miami, a collaborative effort between Life and Death and Innervisions.As a performer, DJ Tennis has the unique ability to create intimate atmospheres inthe vastest of gatherings, blending elements of house, techno and disco in eclecticand captivating ways. Manfredi is also a long-time producer; in his studio work heconsistently channels his past relationships with post-rock luminaries such asGodspeed You! Black Emperor, Tortoise and Fugazi into intricately-synthesizedelectronic constellations. Throughout his career, DJ Tennis’ music has been releasedon Kompakt, Rhythm Assault, Running Back Records, !K7, Cercle Records, AusMusic, Circoloco Records, other than having frequent his own releases on Life andDeath. Tennis also remixed the likes of Diplo, Boys Noize, Loco Dice,WhoMadeWho, Acid Pauli and more.After periods of his life spent in Miami, Berlin and Barcelona, DJ Tennis currentlyresides in Paris. Outside of studios and clubs, Manfredi Romano worked as a chef, apassion that he combined with music as a menu curator for different charity eventsand in collaborations with Beatport at ADE, Pioneer, and Resident Advisor. Manfrediis also an avid collector of bicycles as well as vintage action-figures, and is alwaysbuilding upon his vinyl record collection – which now numbers over eleven-thousandstrong. We’re excited to announce our first ever Maker Market, happening August 2nd, 2024. Makers, artisans, and artists from the Phoenix Forge community and around the valley will be setting up for an indoor night ma ... We’re excited to announce our first ever Maker Market, happening August 2nd, 2024. Makers, artisans, and artists from the Phoenix Forge community and around the valley will be setting up for an indoor night market and exhibition to sell their hand-made goods, and show off their one-of-a-kind works made right here at the makerspace. Plus, we’ll be kicking off the event the night before with Making a Living, a mini-series of talks on creative entrepreneurship, hosted at Phoenix Forge. Hear lessons learned and best practices from creative professionals and art and design business owners from the Phoenix area. Escape the heat on First Friday and support creative small business! Sign up below to stay informed about the vendors and speakers being featured, and all the details leading up to the event. Potential Vendor Details:  Join us First Friday, August 2nd from 5PM–9PM to support art and artisans from across the valley, and see one-of-a-kind works made by Phoenix Forge members. We're still looking for folks who would like to sell their hand-made goods, or participate in the member showcase. RSVP and apply to be a vendor below! We will have space for up to 25 members to have 1-2 works installed in our collaboration space from August 1st - August 9th, with the opening night coinciding with the Maker Market, August 2nd from 5-9PM.   Work will need to be delivered the week prior, unless other arrangements are made, but we will take care of the rest!
