One Community: Point of Pride

ONE Community Foundation's groundbreaking summit focuses on the importance of LGBTQ+ workplace inclusion to attract and retain top talent to your organization and why we must work together to create a state that celebrates, respects and protects us all.

Panel discussions and sessions cover ​active allyship, ​the business case for DEI, ​t​the importance of socially responsible business advocacy and our up to the​ moment report on the State of LGBTQ+Arizona, The report includes an in-depth analysis of the Equality and Fairness for all Arizonans Act, along with side-by-side comparisons to similar legislation, demonstrating the broad appeal and viability of Equality and Fairness for all Arizonans as the path forward to equal protections in Arizona.

9:05 - 9:10: Welcome attendees and recognize sponsors.

9:10 – 10:10: Active Allies presented by Katee Van Horn, Chief People Officer, WebPros

In this interactive session, participants will learn their role in being an Ally, including being someone who is willing to take action, safely.

Attendees will learn:

  • Specific examples of when an ally is needed and let you decide how you will respond in the moment
  • How to best support folks from marginalized groups
  • What being an ally really means

10:20 - 11:20: The business case for DEI Panel Discussion

In recent years, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives have become synonymous with good business practices. But as the political and cultural landscape has begun to change the conversation, some find it to be too much, while for others it’s not enough, and everything in between. Join us as we dive into the political and reputational challenges we face and why standing up for DEI initiatives continues to be the right thing to do not only for building stronger communities, but stronger businesses.

Our panelists will discuss how their organizations approach social responsibility, why it works for them, and the intersection of good business practice and social change.
