BlakTinx Dance Festival is a two day dance festival; Performances and dance classes that feature the work of Black and Latinx Choreographers in Arizona. In its third year in Phoenix, Arizona, BlakTinx Dance Festival, 2019, will premiere work by 8 Arizona choreographers and 2 visiting choreographers from Los Angeles. Because the festival originated in LA we tour LA artist to Phoenix and Phoenix Artist to LA; creating a strong arts exchange between both cities. BlakTinx Dance Festival, Phoenix 2019 choreographers are: Angelina Ramirez, Kyara Nycole, Martha Patty Hernandez Saray, Shaniece Brazwell, Steven Redondo, Hannah Victoria, Emigdio Arredondo of Tucson, AZ, Zarina Mendoza & Alicia-Lynn Nascimento Castro; Collaboration duet. Invited Los Angeles based choreographers are Bernard J. Brown and Alan Perez. This showcase will have modern & contemporary dance, flamenco and cultural storytelling from each dance.
